Bangr was founded by Jay Severson, a co-founder of Chess.com, the platform that grew into the largest chess community in the world. Building Chess.com taught him how a simple, community-based platform can bring millions of people together around something they love.
As a father of three, Jay wanted something he could play with his own kids at the game: a kid-friendly way for them to get involved and share the fun. As betting apps took over sports, there was no version made for families. So he built it.
